demopark 2023: Innovations from the high grass experts
At demopark 2023, AS-Motor will present interesting innovations at its exhibition area E595. In addition to the well-known product range, visitors can expect a new rotary mower that is also ideal for professional use, a new and more powerful battery-powered weed brush, AS 60 EWeedHex and the redesign of the two-wheel drive Sherpas AS 915 and AS 920.
For professional use
The topic of ecological green space maintenance is on everyone's lips. Service providers and municipalities are also increasingly being tasked with maintaining so-called rough grazing areas. Rotary mowers, also known as drum mowers, are suitable for this purpose. For the 2024 mowing season, AS-Motor is expanding its range of these mowers with a new model, which will be shown for the first time at demopark in Eisenach. The AS 700 KM is ideal for professional use thanks to its working width of 70 cm and the associated high area performance. The robust Honda GCV engine with its 6.5 hp from 200 cc displacement and a torque of 12.7 Nm has sufficient power reserves.
Thanks to the drum mower principle, the grass is cut cleanly close to the ground and not chopped up. The four oscillating blades on the cutting drum bend back when they encounter an obstacle. The sliding plate, which is mounted under the drum, follows the ground contour and at the same time determines the cutting height.
The mechanical drive of the AS 700 KM has four forward gears and one reverse gear, which can be conveniently shifted between using the gear lever. Thanks to the large volume tires, the rotary mower is very capable off-road. The differential lock also provides more traction on slopes. The handlebar with anti-vibration protection (Vibration-Protect) is laterally and height adjustable and can thus be comfortably adapted to the operator's height. The foldable handlebar enables compact transport dimensions.
New shine now also for the Sherpa models with rear-wheel drive
At GaLaBau in Nuremberg last autumn, AS-Motor presented the new 2023 models with four-wheel drive from the powerful AS Sherpa family of high grass mowers. At demopark, the 2WD models will now also be shown in new splendor. The visual innovations, which have already convinced the jury of the German Design Award, are now also applied to the models with two-wheel drive. The new paintwork, the extra front panel and the redesigned text make the mowers even more attractive. In addition to the external features, the new 2024 models also offer some technical innovations. Access to the engine for maintenance and service work has been significantly improved. The new tank has a larger volume (17 liters) and has a larger filling opening, making refilling much easier. The new and robust locking mechanism for the foldable safety bar ensures easier handling and operation. It makes the handle much less sensitive to damage and prevents impacts to the elbow.
The models with rear-wheel drive are particularly characterized by their extreme maneuverability and high area performance. Driving speeds of up to 11 km/h are no problem for the Sherpa 2WD models. The combination with the proven components from the Sherpa models with four-wheel drive, such as the surf mower with cross blades or the travel gear with integrated parking brake, also makes the AS Sherpa 2WD a real professional mower for daily use.
New weed brush AS 60 EWeedHex with battery drive
With the new AS 60 EWeedHex, AS-Motor now has an even more powerful weed brush with a working width of 60 cm in its range. The compact and easy-to-maneuver weed brush with 56V battery drive is ideal for use in urban environments. The newly developed machine enables a higher area performance than the existing AS 30 WeedHex on flat and slightly uneven surfaces as well as along walls and curbstones.
Thanks to two EGO-PowerPlus ARC Li-Ion plug-in batteries with 672 Wh each (total capacity 1.34 kWh), a long range is achieved. The very quiet and emission-free operation prevents noise pollution, which is a very important argument for a battery-powered weed brush, especially in urban environments. The torque of the battery motor is higher than that of a conventional 200 cm³ combustion engine. The torque is multiplied by a mechanical reduction gear on the brush. This allows the brush speed to be reduced to just 180 (ECO) or 190 revolutions per minute (TURBO). The low brush speed ensures a very long brush life and guarantees the lowest risk of stone throwing. The batteries for the new weed brush are fully compatible and can be used on all other devices in the AS-Motor Electrics product line.
We look forward to seeing you at our booth E595 at this year's demopark in Eisenach.
