AS-Motor presents the new AS 990 Tahr RC: Remote-controlled power for steep slopes and high grass

AS-Motor has once again redefined professional slope mowing. With the launch of the new AS 990 Tahr RC, presented at Demo Park 2025, professionals in landscaping, municipalities, and infrastructure maintenance get a powerful new tool designed for steep terrain, high vegetation, and hard-to-reach areas.

This remote-controlled rotary mower combines performance, safety, and durability in a compact package, enabling efficient mowing on slopes up to 55° with an area capacity of up to 4,500 m² per hour.

Clean and fast mowing – without turns

The AS 990 Tahr RC features an innovative recumbent mower deck, open on both sides, providing a uniform cutting pattern in both directions. This eliminates time-consuming turns and saves valuable time for operators.

Its cross-blade system, proven in the popular AS 940 Sherpa, easily cuts grass and undergrowth up to 1.5 meters high. The material is effectively mulched for faster decomposition and leaves a clean finish even on lawn surfaces.

Outstanding driving characteristics

Built for extreme slopes, the AS 990 Tahr RC combines:

Tracks with even weight distribution for stability.
Low ground pressure (0.13 kg/m²) that protects the ground and turf.
Precise remote control with intuitive handling, straight-line mowing, and on-the-spot turning.

Thanks to its protruding tracks, the mower can approach slopes from any angle, providing maximum traction whether moving uphill, downhill, or across the slope.

Robust and service-friendly construction

AS-Motor's engineers design with a clear principle: maximum robustness with minimal complexity.
